ITM expands mentoring programme

26 May 2021

ITM is expanding its 2021 Mentoring Programme on July 1 with a second intake of candidates.

The institute expects to enrol a further 15 mentees who will be carefully matched with mentors based on their respective skillsets.

The move is in response to continuing demand from members seeking to become mentees since the first intake of 30 mentees began the programme in January.

Now in its second year, the Mentoring Programme provides mentees with access to leading industry experts in a one-to-one environment to support their career development and personal growth.

The programme is free of charge for ITM ‘Business’ level members.

“The Mentoring Programme is one of various initiatives within our ITM community to connect, educate and support members, nurture talent, build job security and boost morale via shared learning during these difficult times in 2021, but also longer term as business travel returns,” said Scott Davies, CEO, ITM.

“This programme is of an exceptionally high standard and highly effective because of the bespoke personalised pairing process, and the calibre of the mentors who dedicate considerable time to their respective mentee.”

Feedback from existing mentees:

Kate Thomas, Global Travel Manager, Ramboll UK
“I’ve found the sessions with my mentor key to driving my profile within the business. My mentor has provided me with the tools and insight to showcase my worth and clearly communicate what our travel programme is all about.”

Katie Garrahy, Head of Sales Roomzzz Aparthotels
“The ITM Mentoring Programme has been transformative in both my professional and personal life, giving me confidence and the support to fulfil my potential.”

Jake Seage, Senior Corporate Sales Manager STAY
“I have met my mentor several times and can honestly say it is a match made in heaven. Not quite sure how ITM managed to put us together so well, based on our profiles, but we are both thoroughly enjoying working together on goals and targets.”

Feedback from mentors:

Helia Lotzfeldt,  Group Director of Sales, Edyn
“Becoming a mentor has been a very positive experience. I’m delighted to have had the opportunity to give something back to the industry, by supporting colleagues in the business travel sector with their career development.”

Steve Proud, EMEA Travel Manager Citi
“Being a mentor is an inspirational experience allowing us, as mentors, to share the knowledge we have gained throughout our careers in a positive way. It gives us the ability to provide guidance, motivation, goal setting and networking opportunities, as well as providing the mentees the opportunity to challenge the norm and their day-to-day approach to life and business. I’m a strong advocate of both career and personal development, and this is the perfect platform to do so.”
