Sustainability Summit & AGM

Our Environmental Imperative - The era of responsible travel

It is clearly evident there is an increasing global sense of urgency to address and tackle climate change. Remove - Reduce - Replace are three key words that we should place before decisions on actions that impact the planet, if we can’t remove emissions then we must reduce them and as a final step look to how we replace or offset. We all recognize that business travel has an important part to play in our world, economically/socially and in some cases environmentally. However we must ensure that we look at how we do it in the most responsible way, leaving the least amount of negative environmental impact that we can.

Carbon offsetting, Net Zero, Carbon Neutral, Paris Agreement, Science Based Targets are some of the initiatives driving conversations across industry to address global warming. But what do they all mean in practice and what is the right approach in recommending or presenting a sustainable business travel programme for our own organization’s?

The aim of this event is to bring our community together to discuss and debate how we can all underpin our return to business travel in the most responsible way – we have a unique opportunity to rebuild differently given the cessation of global travel over the last 19 months. The half day, afternoon event, will open by addressing why the time is now and bring us all up to speed with what the various terms and initiatives actually mean and how we can help support them.

We then move into a number of sessions which aim to leave everyone  with an increased understanding of why we need to take ownership now and what steps we can take to truly champion a sustainable and responsible travelprogramme.

Following the event there is also the opportunity to stay for ITMs AGM and social networking, which will commence at 17:00.

Please note, that if you wish to attend the AGM, all ITM members can do so for free. Please email us here if you are interested in attending.
