Join our first in-person Autumun Conference taking place in London

"Join us for the inaugural ITM Autumn Conference as we come together to build on the industry’s recovery. Whilst demand for travel has risen, several significant challenges are making progress tricky. Resource constraints amongst critical suppliers, the residual effects of Covid, border considerations and the backdrop of a cost of living crisis mean nothing is ever easy for us, is it?

In each case we will take the time to describe the challenge, share what key players are doing to resolve the situation and, critically, articulate what buyers need to be doing to unearth opportunities and optimise their programmes."

ITM CEO, Scott Davies

Session 1

Dancing with Dynamism

The travel industry is experiencing a stuttering recovery, albeit with both leisure and business travel demand returning strongly in many regions. But it was never going to be easy to build back the people and capital intensive companies such in the short to medium term. Interdependencies on airport and other transport infrastructure, along with rising costs and a need to rapidly replenish cash are leading to customer service issues and price inflation.

Our first keynote of the day will share their expertise on the changing landscape and their views on what we can expect next!

Through the Eyes of the TMC

The TMC community are arguably the lynch pin within the business travel ecosystem and a critically important relationship for the corporate travel buyer. This critical relationship has been strengthened and sometimes challenged throughout the pandemic and as we have emerged. Demand for travel has far outpaced supply, resource is constrained, roles have evolved and there is an overwhelming sense of challenge in trying to navigate a disrupted world.

We will have a brief presentation to share insight from the BTA on where the TMC community currently stands and looks at how the segment is evolving to meet the new demands of the corporate traveller through 2022 and beyond. Following the presentation, Clive will be joined by Pat McDonagh CEO of Clarity Travel and Katherine Gershon of Wexas Travel to share their views on the journey so far and view on the TMC of the future.

The Unbreakable Bond

The travel buyer’s primary service partner has always been the travel management company. But have industry trends, the crisis of pandemic and post pandemic service needs strained the unbreakable bond or is the opportunity for partnership better than ever.

In part 2 of focusing on the role of the TMC, we ask a panel of buyers where the TMC will add the most value in the future.

Are We Walking the Walk?

Over recent years, the topic of sustainability has held an increasingly important position on company agendas with a progressively louder voice on what is being done to be a responsible business and employer. Within the business travel sector there is no doubt that there is an abundance of good intention, investment, planning and commitment to deliver on our responsibilities and lead a responsible return of business travel….but are we making headway in our collective focus on rebuilding a greener travel programme and industry?

During this session, our expert panel will share their views on where our industry is on its journey to deliver immediate results in reducing/removing carbon, in educating our travellers and how we can use data to effectively measure, compare and report the impact of our actions.’
