Nominations Open for 2023 ITM Achievement Awards
Nominations are now open for the 2023 ITM Achievement Awards, recognising individuals and teams across the business travel community for their accomplishments in the last 12 months.
The awards serve to celebrate talent and nurture professional development. In particular this year’s awards aim to shine a light on the ‘unsung heroes’ whose busy day-to-day roles are often accepted as the norm, but who deserve to be acknowledged for their vital contribution to their organisation or team’s collective achievement.
All business travel professionals, whether buyer or supplier in any sector, are invited to enter, and applications are not limited to ITM members. The entry process is quick and easy via the ITM website, where criteria for each category is explained. Individuals and teams can self-nominate, or be put forward by another business travel professional. Multiple submissions in different categories are also welcomed.
The categories include: Travel Buyer of the Year; Game Changer (individual and team); Programme Achievement (individual and team); Service Excellence (individual and team); Mentor of the Year; Mentee of the Year; and One to Watch (Mentee). The winner of Travel Buyer of the Year will be announced at a gala dinner at ITM’s energise Conference on 27 April in Brighton. The ITM Chair’s award (not open to nominations) will also be presented at this event to an individual who demonstrates ITM’s core values. The ITM Chair will select a winner from the ITM Community.
Winners of all other award categories will be announced at the ITM Achievement Awards Ceremony on Friday 30 June in London. At the latter ceremony, ITM will also recognise mentees graduating from its Mentoring Programme.
Scott Davies, CEO, ITM commented: “The ITM Achievement Awards are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the collective achievements of individuals and teams in the business travel community. Many of us shy away from talking up our achievements, downplaying our efforts as a default, or experiencing ‘imposter syndrome’. But we urge business travel professionals to put themselves forward, or nominate a colleague or industry peer, no matter how significant their achievements seem to be.
“Our awards aim to celebrate small triumphs as well as great things. Everyone’s contribution is significant when you look at the bigger picture. Taking time to reflect on what you have achieved is also a positive mental health exercise that can help personal and professional development,” he added.
